10/31/24 – Irrational Numbers and Simplifying Square Roots

Summary: Today we learned about irrational numbers. Irrational numbers are numbers that cannot be written as a fraction with integers as the numerator and denominator. This means that all irrational numbers are decimals that go on forever without repeating. The number π is a famous irrational number but so is the number √2.

When we are simplifying square roots, the goal is to make the radicand as small as possible.
